This API standard specifies requirements for the qualification of manufacturers of polymeric seals used in the petroleum and natural gas industries. This standard is applicable to the manufacturers of polymeric seals where API product standards require such services or are otherwise specified as a requirement for compliance. This standard does not consider entities that solely perform assembly of outside manufactured parts as a polymeric seal manufacturer.
