Preface This is the first edition of CSA TS-804.1, Electric vehicle infrastructure uptime guidance — Overview and definitions . This Technical Specification (referred to as “this Document” from here on) is not a consensus product; that is, it is not a Standard and it has not been formally reviewed or approved by a CSA Technical Committee. This Document contains definitions, requirements, and guidance for uptime during operation. It is intended to be used with CSA TS-804.2, which provides guidance for reporting. CSA Group acknowledges that the development of this Document was made possible, in part, by the financial support of Natural Resources Canada. This Document was prepared by the EV Infrastructure Reliability Working Group. Scope 1.1 Inclusions This Document applies to all electric vehicle chargers installed in public places. It provides the definitions, requirements, and guidance for uptime during operation. The elements of this Document include but are not limited to: a) definitions for charger uptime, excluded time, and downtime; b) a definition of parameters that could have an impact on uptime; and c) methods for the calculation of uptime. 1.2 Terminology This Document contains no requirements. In this Document, “should” is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required, and “may” is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Document.
