Description

This specification defines the requirements for the design, manufacturing, materials, welding, quality control, assembly, testing, marking, documentation, and process controls of axial, ball, check, gate, and plug valves for application in the natural gas and petroleum industry. The specification is used on a global scale to help ensure access to reliable and sustainable energy, and supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 9, Resilient Infrastructure. The title was updated to reflect its broad use and applicability in the natural gas and petroleum industry. This specification applies to ASME Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500.
